Dedicated Emergency Room and Service
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 11,000 people receive medical treatment in emergency rooms for sports-, recreation- or exercise-related injuries each day within the United States (that’s more than four million annually). Children age five to 14 years account for 775,000 of these emergency room visits. What’s more, sports-related injuries are the leading cause of emergency room visits for adolescents and teens ranging from 12 to 17 years of age.
To address these staggering statistics and to provide timely health care for sports-related injuries, Sports Med Utah has its own dedicated, fully-staffed emergency room (ER). With a team of experienced health care professionals and advanced equipment throughout our facility, Sports Med Utah is dedicated to making your sports injury our number one priority — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
